HISTORY
Prakashapalaya is a small rural area in Karnataka, situated in the district of Chamarajanagar Kollegal(TK). It is 25 km away from Kollegal. This Mission belongs to Salesian fathers, Sacred Heart Province Bangalore. It was started in the year 1997. The purpose of this mission was to bring up the poor youth both boys and girls. With this in mind the fathers started a hostel for these children providing opportunity to study in Don Bosco School. In 2003 the fathers, started the hostel for PUC girls. At the beginning the boys and the PUC girls were looked after by the fathers. After 13 years of this venture the fathers felt the need of separating the girls to another building. Therefore in 2010 they built a separate building for PUC girls and named it “Deepanjali Girls’s Hostel”The Hostel building was inaugurated and blessed on 31st January 2011 . Srs. Assunta Noronha and Jawanti Topno joined themission to take care of the young girls, to give them moral and value education and to help them to grow as good citizens.
