Small Apostles of Christ (SAC)

Inauguration of Small Apostles of Christ (SAC) at Pushpa Sadan, Kengeri

“Be the Light of Christ”

A significant Province-level inauguration of the Small Apostles of Christ (SAC) was held at Pushpa Sadan, Kengeri, Bangalore, under the inspiring theme, “Be the Light of Christ.” The event was organised by Sr. Ratna Birdugadda, Councillor for Evangelisation, with the desire to inspire and empower children to become joyful witnesses of Christ in their everyday lives.

The inauguration brought together 35 enthusiastic children, marking the beginning of a beautiful faith journey for these young hearts. The presence of Sr. Jessy Jacob, Provincial Superior; Sr. Assunta Noronha, Vice Provincial; and Sr. Jaswanti Topno, Councillor for Formation, added significance and encouragement to this special occasion.
Fr. Francis Cap, OFM, was invited to be with the children and to share in this meaningful beginning. His presence and interaction with the children made the occasion especially enriching and memorable for them. The Small Apostles of Christ is a movement that seeks to nurture children in faith and inspire them to follow Jesus as His young apostles—learning His ways, praying with faith, serving others with love, and witnessing to Him in their families, schools, parish communities, and among their friends.
The theme, “Be the Light of Christ,” served as a beautiful reminder that every child, no matter how young, can bring the light of Jesus to those around them. Through simple acts of kindness, prayer, love, forgiveness, and service, children can become living witnesses of Christ’s presence in the world.
The inauguration was more than the commencement of a programme; it was the beginning of a mission. The children were invited to discover Jesus more deeply, grow in friendship with Him, and allow His light to shine through their words and actions.
With 35 young apostles taking their first steps in this journey, the SAC movement at Pushpa Sadan begins with hope, enthusiasm, and a renewed commitment to forming children who will learn, pray, serve, and witness wherever they are.
